How to store the polymer lithium-ion battery?
853 2022-08-08
Compared with nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries, polymer lithium-ion batteries have the characteristics of high volume energy density, high specific energy density, high operating voltage, and no memory effect. The polymer lithium-ion battery is the most common battery used in today‘s society, and the disadvantage is that it is relatively expensive.
Therefore, when we use polymer lithium-ion batteries daily, we need to pay attention to two aspects: lithium battery maintenance and how to store lithium batteries for a long time. Below, we will show you how to store polymer lithium-ion batteries.
1. The lithium polymer battery is most suitable to be stored in a dry environment of 0C~20℃
The self-discharge of the polymer lithium battery is affected by the ambient temperature and humidity. High temperature and humidity will speed up the self-discharge of the battery. It is recommended to store the battery in a dry environment between 0°C and 20°C. Do not knock, acupuncture, trample, modify, or expose the battery to sunlight, and do not place the battery in an environment such as microwave heating or high pressure.
2. The polymer lithium battery should be stored in a dry and cool environment
The polymer lithium battery should be charged with 50%~80% of the power when it is not used for a long time, and it should be taken out of the instrument and stored in a dry and cool environment, and the battery should be charged every 3 months. Self-discharge leads to low charge, resulting in irreversible volume loss. Use a regular matching lithium battery charger to charge the battery, try not to use inferior or multiple types of battery chargers to charge the lithium battery.
3. After the polymer lithium battery is fully charged, it needs to be put on hold for half an hour
In the actual use of polymer lithium-ion batteries, the newly charged lithium batteries should be put on hold for half an hour, and the charged quality should be used before use, otherwise the battery performance will be affected. When the instrument is not in use, be sure to remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
4. The polymer lithium battery should be careful not to be over-discharged
The polymer lithium battery has no memory effect and can be charged at any time, but it should be noted that the lithium battery cannot be over-discharged, and over-discharge will cause irreversible volume loss. When the machine warmly reminds that the battery is dead, it will start charging immediately. Do not mix the battery with metal objects. In order to avoid metal objects touching the positive and negative poles of the battery, it will cause a short circuit, damage the battery or even cause danger.
